On December 15, China Gezhouba Group Overseas Investment Co., Ltd., China Gezhouba Group Cement Co., Ltd. and Gansu Hengya Cement Co., Ltd. held the ceremony of "Equity Closing of 7500TPD Cement Production Line Project in Samarkand, Uzbekistan" by video. The ceremony was attended by Lin Xiaodan, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited and Director of CGGCOIC, Fu Jun, Director of CGGC and Xu Huilong, Director of HY, as well as senior management of the three parties. The ceremony was presided over by Cheng Dan, General Manager of CGGCOIC.

At the ceremony, Mr. Lin congratulated the successful completion of the equity closing of the project and expressed his gratitude to all parties for their hard work over the past two years. He said that, as an important overseas investment platform of CEEC, CGGCOIC insists on practicing the national "Belt and Road Initiative", firmly executes the priority development strategy of CEEC's international business, and continuously increases overseas investment efforts. CGGCOIC will take Uzbekistan cement project as the entry point and continue to work with all parties to expand and deepen the market in Central Asia.

Mr. Fu also sent his best wishes for the project, hoping that all parties would strongly support the construction of the project after the start of construction, and strive to make the project a high-quality project for the benefit of the local community and a model project for the cooperation between central and private enterprises, highlighting the good image of Chinese enterprises, and making a new contribution to the promotion of the "Belt and Road Initiative" and the high-quality development of international production capacity cooperation.

The groundbreaking ceremony of the project was held on-site on December 16, Uzbekistan local time. Jamsheed Nasridinov, Governor of Kata Kurgan District, Guo Tianyu, Central Asia General Representative of China Gezhouba Group International Engineering Co., Ltd, Wu Jianbin, a leader of CGGCOIC, Zhai Wanming and other leaders of HY, the project contractor and more than a hundred people participated in the start of the construction ceremony.

Jamsheed Nasridinov said in his speech that China is an important cooperative partner of Uzbekistan, and Uzbekistan and China have long maintained a friendly and cooperative relationship of equality and mutual benefit. Uzbekistan strongly supports and deeply participates in China's "Belt and Road Initiative". At present, Uzbekistan has economic development and social stability, and has a broad market space in infrastructure construction. The future cooperation between the two parties has a good prospect. Samarkand will actively promote cooperation with CGGCOIC and the participating parties to ensure the smooth construction of the project and put it into operation on schedule while doing a good job in the prevention and control of the epidemic.

Project Introduction

Uzbekistan Samarkand 7500TPD Cement Production Line Project is located in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. It is the largest single clinker cement production line invested by CEEC, the largest single-unit cement project in Uzbekistan, and the first investment project implemented after the establishment of CEEC. The project fulfilled the vision and goal of CEEC to deeply cultivate the Central Asian market. It introduced advanced technology from China's cement manufacturing to the local area, drove local employment and benefited local people's livelihoods, and further improved CEEC's international competitiveness and brand influence.
